Ten days ago, in the chapel at Wimpole Hall, I thought of your visit there 25 years ago and how it brought you back into my life. We all send you our love; you are in our thoughts and prayers each day.

  7. Jama Says:

    Dearest Ibby,

Bob and I send our love and are keeping you and your wonderful family in our thoughts and daily prayers.

You are truly one of the greatest “treasures” of my life… whether it is our all-too-infrequent times together in person, on the phone, on line (remember Facebook?) and in my own quiet “alone” times. Even though we’re at opposite corners of the USA, you’re always in my heart and in my prayers. Although we’ve been cousins forever, I treasure our special friendship even more.

With all my love and huge hugs,
    Jama

  8. Honey Says:

    Dearest Cousin Ibby,

Our lives have mostly been lived far apart, but the times we’ve been together have always special for me.

    1. My mother and I travelling by train to visit in Colorado Springs when I was about 10. Going to Buffalo Creek, meeting Jerome. The wonderful bakery near your home on Tejon. Candy at Michelle’s. Heather and Dinah, the dogs.

    2. My solo trip by plane to visit when I was 12. You took me to see British comedies at the Art Center. Lavendar Hill Mob with Alec Guinness. I vividly remember watching you manicure your beautiful nails.

    3. Being thrilled when you asked me to be your maid of honor at 16. First trip to your lovely home in Denver. Blue dresses. Fell a little in love with your handsome John. Wedding reception in the garden.

    4. In 1980 shortly before Mt. St. Helen erupted, first trip to Bellingham. Kate and Annie were in highschool and big tennis players. Your friend flew me over Mt. Baker. Your home then became the foundation of the glorious one you enjoy now!

    5. Over the last 15 years brief visits for family occasions such as my granddaughter Caroline’s birth in Dallas. You brought her “Pat the Bunny”. Weddings of your Doenges nephews.

    6. I’m especially grateful for the times we’ve been together in the last year. Such a blessing that my son David and his family are now in Seattle and so near you. Your gracious invitation to all of us for Thanksgiving dinner in Bellingham last year was a memory that three generations of my family will always cherish.

    7. See you this week for a big hug in person.

    Love and peace, Honey

  11. Gail Haines Says:

Dear Eliozabeth, John, Kate and Annie,

Marty and I have just spent a wonderful 3 weeks in southwestern England. In beautiful Wells Cathedral, we lit a candle for Elizabeth and left a message on the prayer board for ” Our dear friend Elizabeth who is surviving 4 years of chemo therapy.” It gave us great peace to leave that message which will linger in our hearts.
We have so much we wish to share with you as you were all with us on our enjoyable trip.
With love and “Take Courage” and Stay Calm and Carry On and all those wonderful words we appreciated at the Churchill War Museum.
    Gail and Marty

  12. Cyndi Walters Says:

Much love to you Elizabeth…..this is for you:

    Timeless Journey

There is a journey we all take,
to find who we are, what we will be and who we will become.
Our journey is endless, for it follows life and beyond,
the good times and the bad.
Your journey is yours to take and make it everything you want
fill it with joy, love, laughter and continuous wonder!

Though, at times the journey is dark.
    Keep your eyes open for the sun shines even in the darkest hour;
as the birds sing and the sky is blue and open.
Your path will continue to bring you to people, to friends
as it goes on, to times of incredible discovery.
The Journey is timeless and endless,
even when death comes and claims life
it’s never the end of the journey,
    only a new beautiful beginning!

  15. Sheilagh Says:

    Hello My Dear,

This latest posting of photos is amongst my favorites. These are story pictures awaiting your narration. Lack of a sandbox as small children is what’s wrong with our youth today! A place for creativity, making friendships, trial & error; all in a comfortable play area. I miss nurses’ hats! Is Jimmy Sturdevant still in Colorado? The plane ride was no doubt worth a quick stinging swat. What a thrill to fly in that plane! (could you see out the window?)

Tulips should arrive this week or next (delayed because I also ordered peonies). Do you have a place in mind for them? Will John & Richard plant them nicely for you?

I sure do wish, wish, wish as hard as I can that you were well and we could sit together ’round your table with Andrea & Diane and paint, drink tea, and tell stories. Yes.

With love from me to you,

    Sheilagh
